016 | max salty: light show
One night in high school, I snuck out with a couple friends to explore an abandoned hospital. When we got there, we were unable to scale the fence, so instead we descended into a ravine near the freeway, filed one after the other into an open sewer tunnel, and proceeded into the darkness beneath our city, thrilled and terrified. Deep into the tunnel, we froze, hearing an unexplainable mechanical sound: ch-ch-chhh, ch-ch-chhh, ch-ch-chhh. ch-ch-chhh, ch-ch-chhh, ch-ch-chhh. Marching on, the noise grew louder until finally we reached two girls our age reclining against the curve of the tunnel while a guy gave them a light show with his rave gloves and trance music played from a tiny speaker. They were students at our high school. We stayed with them for a few minutes.
Trance music is my truest guilty pleasure. This mix goes out to the kandy kids and sewer tunnel ravers in the suburbs. Put on your bracelets, stay hydrated, and enjoy the light show...
